In Jerusalem, Foreign Vice-Minister Skusevičius presents Lithuanian Government’s efforts to combat anti-Semitism
The Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Darius Skusevičius attended the sixth Global Forum for Combating Antisemitism in Jerusalem and presented the Lithuanian Government’s effort to combat anti-Semitism. Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister also met with the Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yuval Rotem and discussed situations in the regions of the two countries. The interlocuters also welcomed the close bilateral cooperation.
In the meetings with the leadership of the Litvak organization in Israel “Igud jocei Lita”, the association of Jews from Vilnius and Vicinity “Beit Vilna”, and the Israel-based Lithuanian-Israeli friendship association “Israelita”, Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister discussed ways to strengthen Lithuania’s ties with these organizations.
In addition, Skusevičius also met with the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice-President of the World Jewish Congress Robert Singer, the Director of the American Jewish Committee Avital Leibovich, and the Executive Director of Tel Aviv University’s Institute for National Security Studies Amos Yadlin, as well as with analysts of this institute.
During the visit to the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre, the Foreign Vice-Minister met with Yad Vashem’s leadership and discussed the ongoing and anticipated cooperation.
