The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius extended his sincere congratulations to the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland Simon Coveney on the occasion of St. Patrick’s Day, as well as wished Ireland and its people every success, prosperity, and wellbeing.
“I greatly value the friendly and mutually beneficial relationship that Lithuania and Ireland enjoy. I see potential to expand our co-operation in such areas as information and communication technology, life sciences, tourism, exchanges between universities, students and cities. This has become even more important after a new strong link – a vibrant Lithuanian community in Ireland – had emerged,” Lithuania’s Foreign Minister wrote.
In his congratulations letter, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister also emphasized the importance of a closer cooperation and solidarity with European and Euro-Atlantic allies, which would bring new perspectives and further strengthen ties between Lithuania and Ireland.
