Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister Germanas meets with the new Ambassador of Cambodia
On 21 February, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas received the new Ambassador of Cambodia to Lithuania Ker Vicseth, who resides in Moscow. On the same day, the Ambassador handed over his letters of credence to the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė.
Although the two sides acknowledged that they had not exploited the potential of bilateral economic cooperation fully, Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister was pleased that some examples of successful economic cooperation could already be found – Cambodia was being discovered by Lithuanian information technology, aviation, and agricultural enterprises. Germanas invited Cambodian representatives to participate in the international exhibitions – ‘AgroBalt 2018’, ‘Life Sciences Baltics 2018’ – which will take place this year in Lithuania.
Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister expressed his concern over Cambodia’s deteriorating political climate. The interlocutors also discussed topical regional issues. Germanas called on Cambodia to implement the United Nations Security Council’s resolutions imposing sanctions on North Korea.
Ker Vicseth is the fourth Ambassador of Cambodia accredited to Lithuania. Lithuania has not accredited its Ambassador to Cambodia. The countries established their diplomatic relations on 30 March 2005.
