A delegation of representatives of the "Study in Lithuania" Foundation and Lithuanian higher education institutions visited Almaty
On November 18-22, a delegation of representatives of The Education Exchanges Support Foundation “Study in Lithuania” and Lithuanian higher education institutions visited Almaty. Representatives of the Foundation “Study in Lithuania” together with representatives of six Lithuanian universities – ISM University of Management and Economics, Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Vilnius University and Vilnius College – participated with a Lithuanian stand in the annual “Kazakhstan International Exhibition Education & Career 2024” higher education fair in Almaty.
On November 19, a delegation of representatives of the Foundation “Study in Lithuania” and Lithuanian higher education institutions visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty, where a meeting was held with representatives of the Lithuanian community of Almaty and several Kazakh higher education institutions. The participants of the event were greeted by Consul General Gvidas Kerušauskas, who expressed his satisfaction with the annually growing number of students from Kazakhstan in Lithuania and the intensifying cooperation between higher education institutions of both countries. Gražina Kaklauskienė, Deputy Director of the “Study in Lithuania” Foundation, told the guests about the Foundation’s activities and the opportunities for studying in Lithuania. “Study in Lithuania” is an information and support centre for students who are interested in studying in Lithuania. It provides general information about the availability of study programmes and the cultural life in Lithuania. The universities and colleges in Lithuania offer more than 700 study programmes of a wide variety in English language for foreigners to choose from. The country offers a cosy and safe environment for international students with plenty of possibilities for extracurricular activities and career opportunities.
On November 20-21, the Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty organized meetings between representatives of the “Study in Lithuania” Foundation and the aforementioned Lithuanian higher education institutions with schools and universities located in Almaty. The Lithuanian delegation visited the Kazakhstan International School in Almaty, where senior students were presented with information about Lithuania and the opportunities to study there. There were also visits to the Kazakh National Research Technical University (Satpayev University) and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, where the Lithuanian delegation got acquainted with the study programs offered by these Kazakh higher education institutions and discussed the possibilities of scientific cooperation and student exchange under the Erasmus+ program.
