An international scientific conference dedicated to the second anniversary of Russia's invasion to Ukraine was held at the University of Turan
On January 25, 2024, the Consul General of Lithuania in Almaty G. Kerusauskas visited the University of Turan (Almaty), where an international scientific conference dedicated to the second anniversary of the Russian mass invasion to Ukraine was held.
The opening speech was made by the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Almaty - prof. hab. dr. Jozef Taimanovsky, who drew attention to the fact that modern military conflicts not only destabilize the situation, but also challenge the existing world order.
After his speech, US Consul General Michelle Yerkin unequivocally noted the US commitment to supporting Ukraine. “I stand before you today to reaffirm our enduring support for Ukraine, as we have shown through our economic, humanitarian, and security assistance. America’s goal is to see a democratic, independent, sovereign, and prosperous Ukraine with the means to deter and defend itself against further aggression,” Consul General M. Yerkin said in her remarks.
Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty G. Kerusauskas, in the opening speech of the conference, emphasized the importance of international support for Ukraine, also noting that Ukraine’s defeat on the battlefield could encourage V. Putin to expand the invasion to other countries in the region.
During the event, scientists from the Republic of Poland and Kazakhstan presented their insights.

• Consequences of military conflicts and regional wars for the international world order;
• Globalization processes – opportunities and challenges and threats to the international world order.
