Awarding ceremony of bowling tournament of the Lithuanian community in Almaty "Glory to the Heroes!"
On November 16, 22, 27, 2023, for the second year in a row, the bowling tournament "Glory to the Heroes" was held to honour fighting our Ukrainian brothers. The tournament was attended by 14 teams from the Lithuanian and Ukrainian communities in Almaty, the United States, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Turkey consulates and the Consulate General of Lithuania as well, and one sponsor‘s team.
After an intensive battle Lithuanian Community in Almaty team scored the highest number of points and won 1st place, the team of the Lithuanian Consulate General in Almaty "Iron Wolf" won 2nd place and the team of the Consulate General of the United States of America in Almaty "El Duderinos" took 3rd place overtaking Ukrainian community‘s in Almaty team - "Chervona Kalina".
The winners of 1-3 places were awarded with cups, medals, gift certificates and souvenirs. Special prizes were also given to youth representatives, the most promising Lithuanian community team "Stada Baltic in Kazakhstan" and to the 4th place winners in teams, women's and men's groups.
The event was supported by Lithuanian and Kazakh businessmen: Eligijus Survila, owner of „Libella Bottlers Almaty“; Algirdas Urbonas, owner of „Urbon Design“; Arminas Macevičius, Vice President of „Stada Eurasia Region“; Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Lithuania in Kazakhstan Arman Edilbajev and Aleksandr Deriglazov; Viktor Vovk, owner of „Clinic Dr. Vovk“; Eduardas Riešuta, shareholder of „Domus Arte“, Erzhan Niyazaliyev, shareholder of „Sandyg Restaurant“ and Boris Tanalinov, representative of „Noblesse Food“.
The tournament participation fee was transferred to the Ukrainian Kremenchiuk‘s city Society of People with disabilities.
