Bowling tournament "Glory to the Heroes!" opening
On November 14, 2022, the Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania Gvidas Kerusauskas in the bowling club "Krapiva" have opened the bowling tournament of the Lithuanian community of the city of Almaty - "Glory to the Heroes!" The Consul General noted that this tournament is dedicated to our Ukrainian brothers who more than 8 years have been fighting against Russian aggression for the freedom of their nation and the right to choose how to live.
The event, initiated by the Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania have got a great interest from the local Lithuanian society and diplomatic missions accredited in Almaty as well. 14 teams from the Lithuanian community of Almaty, the Consulates General of the USA, Germany, Poland, Hungary, the Republic of Lithuania and the Ukrainian diaspora of Almaty expressed their desire to take part in this tournament.
The event was sponsored and prizes were established by Lithuanian and Kazakhstani entrepreneurs: Eligijus and Arnoldas Survilos, owners of company “Libella Bottlers Almaty”; Algirdas Urbonas, “Urbon Design” owner; Arminas Matsevicius, Vice President of “Stada”, “Eurasia Region” and Alexander Deriglazov, co-owner of “Meloman”, “Marvin” and “Comfort” companies.
On November 21 and 28, 2022, the remaining two rounds will be held, after which the best teams and players will be awarded. Funds received for participation in the tournament will be transferred to Ukrainian children.
