Consul General visited Bishkek with a working visit

On April 17–19, 2024, the Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty, Gvidas Kerusauskas, had a working visit to Bishkek. G. Kerusauskas met with the rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, named after Kazy Dikambaev, - Ambassador A. Kylychev. During the meeting, opportunities for cooperation with Lithuanian universities were discussed, as well as topics relevant to bilateral relations. After the meeting with rector A. Kylychev, Consul General G. Kerusauskas to the academy students presented the achievements of the Lithuanian economy and cooperation with the countries of Central Asia.

G. Kerusauskas and the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic, B. Barazaliev, discussed on organizational issues of in June planned visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Transport to Lithuania, assessed the bilterial trade turnover and the implementation of the sanctions against the Russian Federation.

On April 18, an exhibition of works by the Lithuanian folk artist, master of paper cutting, Klaidas Navickas had been opened at the „Solar Sign“ art gallery. As it was expected, the Lithuanian artist's carvings attracted a lot of attention from visitors and local media. At the opening of the exhibition speeches were made by Consul General G. Kerusauskas, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan A. Imangaziev, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Kyrgyzstan Zh. Myrzabaev and the owner of the „Solar Sign“ art gallery - Ch. Tentieva. During the opening of the exhibition, diplomats, representatives of local business, culture and art, as well as lithuanians living in Bishkek had the opportunity to listen to Lithuanian national music, taste the products of the enterprises “Zemaitijos pienas”, “Vilvi” and enjoy Lithuanian sakotis (bankuchen).
