Lithuanian diplomats visited Bishkek on March 13-14

On March 13, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania, Egidijus Navikas, together with the Consul General in Almaty, Gvidas Kerušauskas, organized a reception to commemorate the Day of Restoration of Independence of Lithuania in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. In their speech, Lithuanian diplomats emphasized the importance of this date for the development of the Lithuanian state and noted the prospects for cooperation between the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan in the fields of transport, education, innovation, and economy. The Consul General in Almaty, Gvidas Kerušauskas, noted that Kyrgyzstan has always been and remains an important partner and friend of Lithuania. We maintain close ties in the fields of politics, economy, trade, transport, and science, and develop mutually beneficial projects. During the event, 11 representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, municipalities, business, universities, and the arts were awarded special "AČIŪ!" badges for their close cooperation and fostering friendly relations between Lithuania and Kyrgyzstan.

The participants of the celebration had the opportunity to hear live performances of the national anthems of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Lithuania and Europe Union, listen to jazz improvisations by Professor Artūras Anusauskas, and enjoy performances by a local violinist and saxophonist. In the foyer of "Texnopark", guests could view an exhibition of paintings about Lithuanian Tatars and Karaims, as well as taste "Džiugas" cheese.

On March 13, Ambassador Egidijus Navikas, together with the Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty, Gvidas Kerušauskas, and First Secretary Eduard Mažul, met with the Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Lira Samykbaeva. During the meeting with Deputy Minister of Education Lira Samykbaeva, the ambassador discussed the implementation of the EU Twinning project "Promoting Inclusive Education and STEAM in Urban and Rural Schools," which is being implemented by Lithuania, and presented the advantages of studying in Lithuania. The diplomats also met with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan, Temir Sariev, and discussed the dynamics of bilateral trade and the possibilities of economic cooperation between Lithuania and Kyrgyzstan.

During the visit, meetings were held with the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan, Almaz Turgunbaev, the Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Seitek Jumakadyr, and the Director of the Third Political Department, Nuran Nijazaliev. During the meetings, cooperation between Lithuania and Kyrgyzstan in the fields of transport, politics, and consular affairs was discussed.
