Lithuanian diplomats visited Kazakhstan's national university named after "Al-Farabi"
November 17, 2023 The Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania E. Navikas with the Consul General in Almaty G. Kerusauskas visited the National University of Kazakhstan named after "Al-Farabi". Ambassador E. Navikas presented a lecture on "Diplomacy and Security" and answered the questions to the students of the Faculty of International Relations.
During the meeting with the rector of the university Z. Tuimebayev, attention was paid to the good experience of international cooperation between "Al-Farabi" and Vytautas Magnus, Kaunas Technology, Vilnius Tech and Klaipėda universities. The head of Al-Farabi University pointed out that cooperation has the potential to develop in the fields of innovation and technology, student exchange, joint conferences and seminars.
Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania E. Navikas thanked the rector for close cooperation, agreed to help establish contacts with other Lithuanian educational institutions, especially with Vilnius University.
Consul General in Almaty G. Kerusauskas promised to visit the Faculty of International Relations of the university and give a lecture to the students and consider the possibility of organizing joint events on the occasion of the "May 3rd Constitution".
During the conversation with the dean of the Department of International Relations, L.F. Delovarova, the possibility of giving one of the university's auditoriums the name "Lithuania" was considered. In this way the close relations between "Al-Farabi" University and Lithuanian higher education institutions could be emphasized, and a symbolic gift (the technical equipment and furniture needed for the auditorium would be purchased) in order to honor one of the best valued universities in the Central Asian region, which will celebrate its 90th anniversary in 2024, would be presented.
