Lithuanian diplomats visited Tashkent with a working visit
On April 24-26, 2024 Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty, Gvidas Kerusauskas and adviser Liudas Subacius visited Tashkent. The diplomats had met with the Chairman of the Business and Industry Council of Uzbekistan - Anvar Abduqayum and entrepreneurs interested in export and investment environment in Lithuania. Consul General G. Kerusauskas to the gathered representatives of textile, fruit, meat processors, kid's toy manufacturers and other business branches interested in new export markets in Lithuania and the European Union presented achievements of the Lithuania economy, the business and investment climate, and the trade results of cooperation with Central Asian countries as well.
During the meeting with Zasurbek Choriev, the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the issues of cargo transportation by road transport to Lithuania were reviewed, the issues of crossing the State border between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Lithuania were discussed. Also the further prospects of cargo transportation transit by car through the Republic of Lithuania were assessed, and aspects of the implementation of the sanctions applied to the Russian Federation were touched upon.
With the deputy chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan - Dilshod Rasulov were discussed the organizational and agenda issues of the visit of the Trade and industry business delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, planned to Lithuania at the beginning of May this year. The information on bilateral trade was exchanged as well.
During this visit, meetings were also held with officials of the European Union delegation in Uzbekistan, representatives of Uzbek business organizations and businesses, and a planned inspection of the "VFS Global" Visa Center in Tashkent was carried out.
