Opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in the Zhambyl region
On 2022 September 23, the official opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in the Zhambyl region took place in the city of Taraz. The Honorary Consul was appointed Arman Edilbaev. The opening, press conference and reception were attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Kazakhstan Gintautas Vasiulis, First Deputy Akim of the Zhambyl region of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurzhan Kalenderov, Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty Gvidas Kerushauskas, Deputy Head of the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Islambek Raimov, Akim of the city of Taraz Bakhytzhan Orynbekov, officials of the akimats of the Zhambyl region and the city of Taraz, local entrepreneurs, representatives of the press and culture.
“We are glad that Lithuania managed to find the honorary consul of the Zhambyl region. Arman Edilbaev is well-known and active businessman, and philanthropist of the city of Taraz. We hope that with the help of the Honorary Consul cooperation with the Zhambyl region will become more active in various fields. It’s pleasure that with each opening of honorary consulate in Kazakhstan, more and more Lithuanians appear,” said Ambassador Gintautas Vasiulis. This is already the 8th honorary consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the opening, in the hall where the press conference was held, the Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty organized a photo exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the restoration of Lithuania's independence.
