Opening of the ninth Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in Kazakhstan
On October 3, 2022, the official opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in the West Kazakhstan region took place in the city of Uralsk. It was attended by ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Kazakhstan G. Vasiulis, consul general of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty G. Kerusauskas, officials of the city Akimat of the West Kazakhstan region, transport attache of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Astana G. Jundzila, representatives of the press.
“We are glad that Lithuania managed to find an honorary consul in the West Kazakhstan region - Mr. Zhaslan Dzhakupov, a well-known and active businessman in Western Kazakhstan. We hope that with the help of Mr. Zhaslan Dzhakupov cooperation between Lithuania and the West Kazakhstan region in the transport, logistics, agricultural, cultural and other fields will be activated,” - noted ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Kazakhstan G. Vasiulis. This is already the 9th honorary consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On the occasion of the opening of the Honorary Consulate in Uralsk, the City Art Gallery hosted the opening of the photo exhibition “Lithuanians in Kazakhstan”, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Astana. In the evening a festive dinner was held, which was attended by akim of the West Kazakhstan region - G. Iskaliev, representatives of the Ural city administration and business.
