The Lithuania-Kyrgyz business forum was held in Bishkek and the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania was opened
On May 24-26 the Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty, Gvidas Kerušauskas, together with a delegation of the Association of Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (ALCCIC), led by Lithuanian ALCCIC President Sigitas Gailiūnas, visited Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where they participated in a business forum, B2B meetings with local business representatives and with leaders of Kyrgyz Chamber of Trade and Industry as well as in the opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania.
The business forum was opened by the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan Gintautas Vasiulis, who presented Lithuania's economic, transport, logistics opportunities and investment climate. Sigitas Gailiūnas, President of Lithuanian ALCCIC, and Elmyra Batajeva, Deputy President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, gave presentations at the forum, representatives of Lithuanian companies presented their business and interests in the Kyrgyz market. About 60 Kyrgyz companies participated in meetings with Lithuanian businessmen. During the business forum, Lithuanian ALCCIC President Sigitas Gailiūnas and Deputy President of Kyrgyz Republic Chamber of Commerce and Industry Elmyra Batajeva signed a memorandum of cooperation. Lithuanian ALCCIC President Sigitas Gailiūnas and Deputy General Director of Klaipėda Chamber of Commerce Vida Kažuro invited the business delegation of Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry to visit Lithuania in autumn of 2023.
On May 25 the opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania, which will be headed by the honorary consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Kyrgyzstan Žanibek Myrzabaev, took place in Bishkek. The reception organized on the occasion of the opening of the Honorary Consulate was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Edil Baisalov, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan Gintautas Vasiulis, Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty Gvidas Kerušauskas, Director of the Consular Department of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs Almaz Bukalayev, foreign ambassadors, honorary consuls, Lithuanian and Kyrgyz business and Kyrgyz media representatives.
In his welcome speech, Consul General Gvidas Kerušauskas mentioned "that we were lucky to have managed to find the respected Žanibek Myrzabajevas to represent Lithuania in Kyrgyzstan, who will be a great support for our business in Kyrgyzstan when looking for partners and also when we organize visits, economic and cultural events and in other cases". The newly appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Kyrgyzstan Žanibeks Myrzabaevs is an experienced businessman, manages several companies, and is also a member of the board of the commercial bank "Kyrgyzstan".
